“You are presenting the world as a perfect chain, a chain which is never and nowhere broken, an eternal chain the links of which are causes and effects”

In this passage from Siddhartha, there’s a thought of what this world is and consists of. The world is a perfect chain; it can’t be broken because it consists of cause and effect. We are aware that the world is run by politicians and the rich. These individuals make decisions on a daily basis that affect our countries, and societies. One law, one decision has an effect on everyone and everything. For instance, global warming is an issue worldwide; we are starting to see the consequences of our acts. Which acts you may be asking? Not recycling, erroneous garbage disposal, littering in the sea, and exhausting the use and extraction of natural resources. The consequences of these actions are icebergs melting like never before, climate changes, among other situations. Therefore, the word is a perfect chain of cause and effects, and it can’t be broken because one thing leads to another.

I chose this passage because I agree with what I believe is the meaning of it. In our everyday life we do things that will affect others and even our future. Everything has consequences, whether they are good or bad.
